ATLAS ACADEMY

The world is the campus. The transcript is real.

A family prospectus — for parents who gave their teenager the world and now want it recognized on paper.

The Transcript Gap

You gave your teen the world. Admissions offices want it on paper.

Your family chose a bigger classroom — continents, languages, real work in real places. But when a university asks for a transcript, the richest education a teenager can have suddenly looks like a gap. You have been the registrar, the counselor, and the curriculum office, alone. Atlas Academy closes that distance: the brilliance is already there. We recognize it and put it on paper.

The Atlas Commitments

Five things a worldschool owes your family

01

Transcripts

Portfolio-assessed, standards-aligned, college-ready — a registrar's discipline.

02

Oversight

Credentialed educators review every credit; a PhD-led academic spine.

03

Peers

A true cohort of 24 — the connection worldschooling teens are missing.

04

Planning

A strategic four-year map from where your teen is to where they're going.

05

Purpose

UN SDG capstones with community partners — learning that gives back.

Atlas Academy is application-only. Each season is limited to 24 students, reviewed personally by the founder.

The Experience

Six weeks that count. In every sense.

A 4-day-per-week academic hub in Costa Rica. Mornings in seminar; afternoons in the field on a UN SDG capstone with local partners — turtle-nest surveys, regenerative agriculture, community documentation. Evenings belong to the cohort: shared meals, shared projects, the friendships a moving childhood rarely gets to keep.

Each season runs twelve weeks; your family chooses its six. Arrive from anywhere, leave for anywhere — the credential travels with you, and the peer community continues online between seasons.

The Credential

From lived experience to conferred credit.

No algorithm issues a transcript at Atlas Academy, and no checkbox does either. Every credit is a human judgment, made by a qualified educator, on evidence your teen actually produced.

I · Portfolio

Students capture real artifacts — field journals, data, film, essays, built things — as they work.

II · Expert review

Credentialed educators assess each portfolio against standards-aligned rubrics and record a written rationale.

III · Transcript

Validated learning is conferred as formal credit on a college-ready transcript, formatted for accreditation-portfolio acceptance.

Transcripts are issued under transparent umbrella-school and portfolio-assessment conventions. Atlas Academy is pursuing accreditation through Cognia; families receive a plain-language explanation of exactly what the credential is at every stage.

Questions families ask

Is the deposit really refundable?

Yes — $500, fully refundable for any reason until enrollment is confirmed. If a season doesn't reach its greenlight of ten committed families, every deposit is returned automatically. The risk stays with us, where it belongs.

Who reviews my teen's work?

Credentialed educators, under the direction of Dr. Erica L. Tartt, PhD — an educational researcher and evaluator. Every credit carries a human sign-off and a written rationale.

What about safety and data?

A safeguarding and disclosure-response policy governs all youth-facing operations. Family data is handled consent-first and FERPA-aligned; nothing is shared or used without explicit written permission, and opting out never affects services.

We're mid-journey — does the schedule bend?

That's the design. Twelve-week seasons, your choice of six; the credential and the peer community travel with you.
